Fall in Texas runs from October through November; I hope you’re ready! As the saying goes, everything is big in Texas. So it’s no surpise that fall is a big deal, with plenty of upcoming activities to celebrate the new season.

Here in The Woodlands, Texas, fall is all about the festivals, farms, and pumpkin patches. The Woodlands is usually cooler and sunnier than many other areas in Texas, which makes it a great place for people who want to celebrate the beautiful atmosphere, enjoy the festivities and events lined up for all ages, or catch up with old friends and families during the season.

Whatever reason you have for being in The Woodlands, it is the best place to enjoy the perfect fall with plenty of things to do. Here, we picked out our top five favorite fall activities in The Woodlands:

This year’s theme is bound to be good: ‘Hollywood Horror: Frights, Camera, Action’.  This event welcomes all guests ages 8 and above to a trial of scary sights and characters at the Bear Branch State Park.

Get into the Halloween spirit as you make your way through the trail, which lasts for three weekends in October. It’s hosted by the Woodlands Parks and Recreation Department. Admittance fee is $8 per person.

So, tell a friend and come scream your heart out at the Haunted Trail; you won’t want to miss it.

The Farmers’ Market

Fall is the prime time to visit the farmers’ market. The Woodlands Farmers Market at Grogan’s Mill is the spot where families can enjoy the best in fresh foods, colorful produce, and seasonal flavors straight from The Woodlands area.

While you will find different natural and organic health foods and products, visitors can also find handmade items of leather, yarns, artisan coffee, flowers, and holistic options to enjoy the upcoming winter.

Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

If you’ve never tried or seen anyone do this before, then hurry on over to the calm waters of Lake Woodlands and try stand-up paddleboarding! All thanks to the calm weather, the lake provides the perfect location for you to explore the natural habitats and birds that stand on the banks. Or, you might even be lucky enough to spot a bald eagle soaring high above.

If paddleboarding isn’t your cup of tea, then try kayaking or a boat ride to enjoy the crisp, refreshing weather and atmosphere.

Trick or Treat Trail

The annual Trick or Treat’ Trail is taking place on the 28th of October at Norshore Park. The Halloween-themed event welcomes kids of all ages! Kids can trick or treat from booth to booth, stocking up on goodies from local vendors. At this event, you can find balloon artists, strolling entertainment, and – of course – costume contests! So be sure to arrive in your costume.
